Eli - Month 4

August was a total blur, mostly because I'm back at work and the project list just grew and grew while I was gone.  But who wants to hear about boring work.  Let's talk about that baby (as Piper would say)!  Eli turned 100 days old (woo!) and is really plump and responsive now.  He really appears to see and process events & people.  Piper makes up silly songs and dances and he smiles and laughs.  I can call his name, and he'll whip his head around looking for the source of my voice.  Toys, especially ones that spin or clank or make noise, are riveting, and he's way more into soft toys and blankets.  The muslin swaddling blankets are faves for clutching as is the purple bunny he got from Libby & crew.  One day on the drive into daycare and work, he couldn't stop staring out the window.  Instead of watching him (in the baby mirror) take a quick nap, his chin was up and his eyes were wide.

He's wearing 3-6 month clothes now which includes lots of Piper's hand me downs which is a total riot.  We got a high chair so he can watch us eat.  We might be thinking about solids for him soon.  Maybe he'll like purees, who knows.

Right now, at the end of the month, his sleeping is going a little haywire.  The dependable has departed, which I know about, that there are regressions & all that, but it's still stressful.  You think you know your baby and then, you don't.

He still has a capacity for stinky funk that is prodigous.  He still has a sporadic poop schedule.  He had his first cold.  Both my babies started daycare at 12 weeks and had a cold by 16 weeks.  His patience disappeared and he got the most pitiful cry.  I had a horrible sore throat, even took a day off work and got a strep test, it felt that bad...
