Voila!

We made it! The cake made it! Here it is all stacked and flowered. Shannon did the top arrangement and we colloborated on the placements on the lower tiers. We ended up being the ones to cut it as well. There were only about 70 people so we only ate the lowest tier. But everyone seemed to like it and all that.

Note to self: do not agree to do this again for at least six months.

Dude, that's gorgeous! It looks so professional. And I had no idea about the crumb-coating thing -- is that what makes the sides of the cake look so smooth?

What type of cake was it?

Yes, the crumb-coat helped me as I tried to make the sides look smooth. But there is also ribbon around each layer. That's probably what's making it look smooth.

It was a very boring cake, white cake with buttercream, but tasty.

The top two tiers were wrapped and boxed for whomever. Not us though.

Beautiful! I wish you could make my wedding cake. It probably wouldn't transport well, though. Would it?
